Date:9/17/2009

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Satellite Healthcare, one of the nation's first and leading providers of kidney dialysis services and a major sponsor of nephrology research, today announced their sponsorship of The Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation's "Pathway to a Cure" walk event in California's capital of Sacramento. The event will be held Sunday, September 20, 2009 at The Capital Building, 1315 10th Street, Sacramento, CA. Registration is at 9:00am, with the walk beginning promptly at 10am.

"Satellite WellBound is dedicated to educating patients with kidney disease to achieve the best clinical outcomes, but our ultimate goal is to support the cure," said Ann Robar, Executive Clinical Director at WellBound, a service brand of Satellite Healthcare. "Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is a life-threatening genetic disease, affecting 600,000 Americans and over 12.5 million people worldwide, and is more common than Down Syndrome, Cystic Fibrosis, Muscular Dystrophy, and Sickle Cell Anemia combined. Our sponsorship of The Pathway to a Cure day-walk allows Satellite Healthcare to join in the fight against PKD, and assist the PKD Foundation in finding a cure."

The Sacramento Walk for PKD is coordinated and run by volunteers who donate their time and talent to make Pathway to a Cure events successful. More than 83 cents of every dollar goes directly toward research into a cure for PKD. For more information or to register to walk, please visit www.pkdcure.org/sacramentowalk or call 1-800-PKD-CURE.
