Santa Gets a Little Help from Equal Health
Date:1/3/2009

DALLAS, Jan. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Employees at Arlington-based Equal Health once again contributed generously to Santa's Helpers, a local charity now in its 39th year. Dallas' ABC affiliate WFAA founded the annual event to help out during the holidays by distributing donated toys to children of economically disadvantaged families.

On Wednesday, December 17th Equal Health CEO Brady Spears personally delivered the company's donations to the television studio. "We've been donating the gifts for the last four years, but this is by far most we've ever had. With the economy the way it is, this says a lot about our employees," said Spears. Chris Novinger, the company's president, adds, "We only have 42 employees, so we are like family. Everyone in the family gave a gift, most of them more than one."

In 2007, Santa's Helpers collected over 78,000 toys for more than 50,000 children throughout Dallas, Tarrant, Denton, and Collin counties. In 2008, they hoped to surpass that with the help of the employees at Equal Health and others around the Metroplex.

Equal Health specializes in connecting individuals, families, and businesses with healthcare options beyond traditional insurance plans. With licensed agents across the country, Equal Health has become one of the nation's fastest growing healthcare providers by meeting the needs of everyday Americans in a time where traditional health insurance is becoming unaffordable, not providing efficient coverage or denying qualification for deserving individuals.
