AHRQ Materials Geared to Health Care Professionals & Patients

BRIDGEWATER, N.J., May 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sanofi-aventis announced today that it will assist in the dissemination of consumer health materials created by the Department of Health and Human Services' Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). The informative and easy-to-read materials are designed to help consumers become better informed and participate as partners in their own health care, and thereby promote safer, higher quality care. The materials are available in English and Spanish.

Sanofi-aventis believes that awareness of these materials will be of interest to physicians, other health care professionals, and patients and may ultimately help enhance the health and well-being of patients.

This initiative by sanofi-aventis is also designed to raise awareness of the breadth of materials available from AHRQ.

Sanofi-aventis plans to initially provide its managed care customers, which include health plans, employers and hospitals, with access to the following AHRQ materials:

-- Men: Stay Healthy at Any Age-Your Checklist for Health

-- Women: Stay Healthy at Any Age-Your Checklist for Health
