(PRWEB) May 6, 2010 -- San Francisco Plastic Surgeon Dr. Michael R. Macdonald announced the launch of a new plastic surgery blog dedicated to real cosmetic surgery patient recovery experiences. The blog features real plastic surgery patients who chronicle their cosmetic surgery experience through detailed daily accounts of their progress, and provide important information about eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) and other cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Michael R. Macdonald is a double board certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and otolaryngologist

Dr. Macdonald’s plastic surgery blog (at http://real-cosmetic-surgery.blogspot.com/) ) focuses on several procedures of interest for people considering cosmetic surgery in the San Francisco Bay Area. Dr. Macdonald, who is also an Assistant Professor at UCSF, says the blog gives patients an in-depth look at the reality of plastic surgery and a much needed forum for raising day-to-day concerns, such as how to protect the skin while recovering.

"My blog allows readers to connect with patients who have undergone a procedure they may be considering themselves," Dr. Macdonald explains. "We’re giving them a very clear idea of what the surgery entails and the value I place on healthy plastic surgery recovery."

“Interest in cosmetic surgery is skyrocketing. We want our readers to gain real perspective on our approach to maintaining a youthful appearance through minimally invasive procedures. I spend a great deal of time face-to-face time with my patients, but there are always questions that follow a consultation. The blog also helps prepare patients before a consultation, so that they know what questions they want to ask," Dr. Macdonald notes.

Dr. Michael Macdonald is a cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon in San Francisco, offering a selection of popular procedures ranging from BOTOX Cosmetic to facelift and rhinoplasty surgery to the San Francisco Bay Area. He is the director of Aesthetic Surgery Center of San Francisco and also serves as chief of the Division of Head and Neck Surgery at the Alameda County Medical Center, where he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery.

Dr. Macdonald also participates in the health and beauty blog BeautiRX.
