San Antonio Business Journal Names BMI of Texas One of the Best Places to Work in San Antonio

BMI of Texas, which specializes in a variety of weight loss surgery procedures in Texas, today announced it was named one of the “Best Places to Work” in San Antonio by the San Antonio Business Journal. BMI of Texas ranked number 2 in the Small Business Category (companies with 1-50 employees), earning this prestigious accolade just 18 months after the company was founded.

(PRWEB) June 15, 2010 -- The Bariatric Medical Institute of Texas (“BMI of Texas”), which specializes in a variety of weight loss surgery procedures in Texas, today announced it was named one of the “Best Places to Work” in San Antonio by the San Antonio Business Journal.

BMI of Texas ranked number 2 in the Small Business Category (companies with 1-50 employees), earning this prestigious accolade just 18 months after the company was founded. According to the San Antonio Business Journal, more than 150 companies responded to an initial questionnaire published in its print publication and on its Web site. Nominations were sent to Quantum Workplace, which conducted a confidential online survey of employees. The 47 winners were selected based on employee measurement of 37 attributes known to drive employee engagement.

In an article in the San Antonio Business Journal entitled “Bariatric Medical Institute Empowers Employees,” Dr. Duperier said “Employees are the biggest asset we have…The office is run from the bottom up. BMI of Texas, located in San Antonio's Medical Center area, helps patients achieve their weight loss goals through various surgical procedures including gastric bypass, adjustable gastric band and sleeve gastrectomy. For patients who experience some weight regain after surgery, BMI of Texas offers some new endoscopic procedures, such as Stomaphyx. Endoscopy is a safe, non-surgical technique where the surgeon inserts a scope through the patient’s mouth, down the esophagus, and into the stomach pouch. With Stomaphyx, the gastroscope is inserted into the patient’s mouth down into an existing gastric pouch and ‘sutures’ are used to make the original gastric pouch smaller.
