The Global Spa & Wellness Summit (GSWS), the industry research and advocacy organization, today announced that Sallie Fraenkel has been appointed executive vice president. In the newly created position, Fraenkel will lead business development, marketing, public relations, and event management for the GSWS and will be responsible for helping to chart the future direction of the organization.
“We are extremely excited that Sallie has joined the GSWS executive team,” said chairman & CEO Susie Ellis. “ As the Summit continues its growth worldwide, her exceptional background and expertise will be instrumental in expanding the Summit’s mission and forging new partner relationships.”
Fraenkel brings more than 20 years of marketing, partnership development, and operations experience as well as a lifelong passion for wellness to the GSWS. She previously served as chief marketing officer, COO, and executive vice president of SpaFinder® Wellness. A globally recognized expert on spa and wellness, she is a frequent speaker at industry events and has worked to connect the industry with consumers seeking the benefits of wellbeing.
Prior to joining SpaFinder Wellness, Sallie was senior vice president of Showtime Networks, directing distribution and marketing of the network’s original programming. She was also instrumental in creating merchandising and licensing strategies for Showtime’s original series.
