Saint Jude Retreats Reacts to Brooke Mueller in Drug Rehab for 19th Time, According to the LA Times
Date:12/17/2012

Amsterdam, NY (PRWEB) December 17, 2012

Saint Jude Retreats has learned through the LA Times that Brooke Mueller is back in rehab for the 19th time for an adderall addiction after overdosing last week. Mueller claimed she sought medical care on December 7, 2012 "as a precaution." The Saint Jude Program, an alternative program to drug rehab has done extensive research on the addiction industry and has discovered why many drug users cannot seem to stop using. The Saint Jude Retreats research has concluded that they are not suffering from a disease called addiction.

Research by David Rudy among others has concluded that, one of the top reasons why drug rehab does not work is because the disease concepts of alcoholism and drug addiction are social and cultural beliefs rather than scientific (Rudy, 23). Saint Jude's research has concluded that drug rehabs reinforce that addiction is incurable and that relapse is natural and to be expected. Alcohol researcher and author, Dr. David Hanson quotes, "Unfortunately the majority of patients have accepted this belief that relapse is normal and acceptable and thus relapse continuously like Mueller, and their problem is never solved."

On behalf of his client, Yale Galanter, Mueller's attorney claims to TMZ, "Brooke continues her lifelong battle with drug addiction by taking these steps herself (hospitalization) to prevent further drug relapse." Hanson adds, "Not only does this statement allude to the fact that Mueller believes she will never overcome drugs, it also states she knows and more importantly believes, she will relapse."

Michelle Dunbar Saint Jude Retreats’ Executive Director stated, "Brooke Mueller is a living example that personal beliefs and thoughts are powerful. She has been told that she is powerless over drugs over and over again and this belief is now her reality. How can treatment professionals tell her she is powerless then expect her to choose not to use drugs? To overcome this problem once and for all, Brooke must find a program that will empower her to take control of her life. These luxury rehabs are not providing her with a solution, they are ensuring she will remain sick forever."

The Saint Jude Program does not support the disease theory of addiction or drug treatment and wants to help educate the public on how they can overcome drug and alcohol use problems permanently. The program's 62% success rate is verified by a third party organization and all survey results are posted online.

A past Saint Jude’s guest, Rebecca* points out flaws in the addiction treatment she attended before Saint Jude's, "After my drug treatment I found that I had an excuse for my cocaine and methamphetamine use, in fact I was told I have a disease and that I would have it forever. There were people of all ages in the room talking about how they had a disease and how they would relapse again. I remember at that point thinking to myself, so I can just do better for awhile and when I "mess up" again, everyone is going to understand, perfect! At Saint Jude's I learned I was not powerless and that I did not have disease, I felt empowered by the fact that I had the power to change and choose my future."

The Saint Jude Retreats is a non-disease, non-treatment based drug and alcohol program implementing proprietary methodology called Cognitive Behavioral EducationSM (CBE). The program is the only effective alternative to alcohol rehab and drug treatment centers and is currently 85% more effective than treatment. The program is endorsed by internationally acclaimed professionals and addiction research authors such as Prof. Emeritus David Hanson, PhD; Prof. David Rudy, PhD; Dr. Joy Browne and the late Joseph Vacca, PhD, among others.
