Saint Joseph's Adds Renowned Cardiothoracic Surgeon

e hospitals associated with the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada and started his practice in San Antonio, Texas in 1981. Dr. Srivastava served as a visiting surgeon at Texas Heart Institute in Houston, Texas working with Dr. Denton Cooley and his associates in 1989. In 1990, he started his cardiovascular and thoracic surgery practice in Midland/Odessa area hospitals. Dr. Srivastava was a founding chairman of Alliance Hospital, a center of excellence in the treatment of cardiovascular disease in Odessa, TX in 2003. He joined the University of Chicago Medical Center in 2007 to teach these advanced techniques.

Dr. Srivastava has provided cardiac surgical care for patients at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences in Puttaparthy, a charity hospital in South India, for more than ten years. He is the recipient of the 2003 Statesman of the Year for Medicine, Heritage Foundation, Odessa, Texas and in 2004 be was recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce in Odessa, Texas. He is a frequent presenter at medical conferences and the author of numerous papers on the topic of minimally-invasive surgical techniques. His passion for teaching others has taken him to Australia, China, Thailand, Japan, Korea, India, Austria and Belgium where he has helped launch robotic revascularization programs.
