Date:8/12/2009

TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Sage Software Healthcare, Inc. today announced that it is showing its support for National Health Center Week (August 9 - 15, 2009) by offering volunteer assistance at community health centers across the country throughout the week through its ProjectSERVS (Sage Employees Reaching out with Volunteer Service).

National Health Center Week is an annual celebration designed to raise awareness about the valuable work that community health centers do. During this week, health centers across the country host events to educate people on healthcare and the types of services provided by the centers. Many events feature free health screenings, food and refreshments, prominent speakers, and more.

This year, Sage employees are volunteering their time at different health centers across the U.S., including:

  • Northern Oswego Community Health Center in Pulaski, New York - Sage employees will be doing landscaping work around the health center
  • Optimus Community Health Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut - Sage employees will be helping out at a community health fair
  • North County Community Health Services in Oceanside, California - Sage employees will be helping out at a community health fair
  • Florida Community Health Centers, Inc., headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida - Sage employees will be participating in volunteer work
  • Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska - Sage employees will be volunteering at the groundbreaking ceremony for a new health center

"National Health Center Week helps the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) raise awareness about the mission of Community Health Centers nationwide," said Marc Wetherhorn, NACHC National Advocacy Director, NACHC. "These health centers will play an increasingly important role in our nation's health care system and help provide access to care for all."

"Sage is proud to once again support community health centers with our volunteer services," said Marilee Benson, Vice President, Strategic Markets for Sage Software Healthcare, Inc. This is our third annual event, and it just keeps growing in popularity and impact. We support the mission of community health centers and salute them for the important role they play in our healthcare system."
