SYNERGY HomeCare Offers Free Home Safety Assessments
Date:6/18/2012

Gilbert, Ariz. (PRWEB) June 18, 2012

In support of National Safety Month, SYNERGY HomeCare, a national franchisor of in-home care, is providing free home safety evaluations. Safety in the home environment is important for the company, as it serves seniors and others with high risk of falling and other accidents.

The National Safety Council, reports that one in three adults 65 and older falls each year. Additionally the greater the age, the more dangerous falling becomes. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, people age 75 and older are four to five times more likely to be admitted into a long-term care facility than people aged 65 to 74.

Due to the frequency and danger of falls, the National Safety Council dedicated week three of National Safety Month to fall prevention. Among the resources on its site, the National Safety Council provides "Preventing Slips, Trips and Falls”, a guide to help people of all ages be more safe from falling.

“Falls result in 8.7 million emergency room visits annually and 55% of falls by seniors occur in their home”, says Dallas Bennewitz, VP of Marketing for SYNERGY HomeCare. “Our complimentary home safety evaluations help minimize the risk of trips and falls at home and provide peace of mind to seniors in our community and their family members.”

SYNERGY HomeCare’s comprehensive safety assessments can cover houses, apartments and other living environments. During a safety assessment, the SYNERGY HomeCare representative evaluates the interior and exterior of the home for clear pathways, safe flooring, adequate lighting, general safety precautions as well as other important safety considerations. The SYNERGY HomeCare representative can also provide suggestions to improve safety and lower the risk of falls and other injuries. To schedule your free home safety assessment visit http://www.synergyhomecare.com and contact the SYNERGY HomeCare agency in your community.

“Falls in the home can be life changing, SYNERGY Homecare’s home safety evaluations are a simple and affordable way help prevent them”, says Bennewitz.
