SLAICO Takes the Medicare Supplement Application Online - Eliminating All Paperwork Offline.
Date:8/3/2009

LEAGUE CITY, Texas, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Since 1948, Standard Life and Accident Insurance Company has been dedicated to the insurance needs of seniors, with an unyielding commitment to quality service, both for the client and the insurance Agent. This has never been more evident than in the introduction of an Internet-based Medicare Supplement application submission process, launched August 3, 2009.

With the advent of the online process, insurance Agents can now submit Medicare Supplement applications to Standard Life and Accident Insurance Company (SLAICO) for their clients. The Agent simply completes the e-application on the secure SLAICO portal for the client, then submits it directly to Underwriting. Upon receipt, SLAICO calls the client for a voice signature, confirming their approval. Within a short 48 hours, the Agent can view the decision online.

A "first" for SLAICO, this process is completely done online, eliminating the need for the client to fill out the application and submit it by regular mail to the Agent, or for the Agent to email the application to the client for an eSignature.

This swift and streamlined process translates to more sales for the Agent and less work for the client. Agents no longer have to make house calls to generate a sale, nor do they need to wait to receive applications by mail. A simple phone call starts the sales process, followed by an online application process that virtually takes just minutes. As a result, they can now close dozens of sales per day without leaving their office.

As the senior market is becoming increasingly more Web savvy -- and with the first baby boomers marking their 65th birthday in just two years -- Standard Life and Accident Insurance Company and its Agents are well poised to serve this growing group with a convenient online process.
