This year, 250 fellows from 18 countries will test their skills and take part in unique hands-on simulations as they prepare to practice in the real world. The fellows also gain a well-rounded and in-depth knowledge of indications, techniques and expected outcomes for interventional cardiac, carotid, structural, congenital and endovascular procedures.
"Today physicians learn and perfect their craft by participating in hands-on activities and simulations," said SCAI Immediate Past President Bonnie Weiner, MD, MSEC, MBA, FSCAI. "This course provides fellows the opportunity to ensure they can perform their every-day job to the best of their ability. Participation in state-of-the-art practices and working with seasoned experts in the field is a totally unique and invaluable experience." Dr. Weiner, Michael J. Cowley, MD, FSCAI, and Christopher U. Cates, MD, FSCAI, are the Program Directors of SCAI's Third Annual Interventional Cardiology Fall Fellows Course.
Throughout the course, sessions cover interventional pharmacology; coronary, carotid, renal, and peripheral intervention; bifurcation lesions; structural heart disease; congenital heart disease; and practice management topics important in establishing an interventional cardiology practice.
The course is provided at no cost to participants, thanks to generous
