SAGE acquires 2 new medical journals

Los Angeles, London, New Delhi and Singapore (May 14, 2008) SAGE, the worlds fifth largest journals publisher, today announced its continued expansion in medical publishing with the acquisition of the British Journal of Diabetes & Vascular Disease and Journal of the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System.

Published six times per year, the British Journal of Diabetes & Vascular Disease (BJDVD) explores the relationship between diabetes and other metabolic diseases and vascular disease.In the last five years BJDVD has developed an international reputation for the publication of original pre-clinical and clinical research as well as high quality reviews.

The Journal of the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System is the official journal of the Renin Academy, dedicated to highlighting the importance of the Renin Angiotensin Aldosterone System (RAAS) in circulatory control and hypertension. JRAAS is published quarterly.

We are delighted by the acquisition of these two important medical titles, strengthening further our programmes in cardiovascular medicine, metabolism and diabetology, commented Ziyad Marar, Deputy Managing Director and Publishing Director, SAGE.

Mike Gibbs, who originally launched the journals, said it has been a pleasure working with the Editorial teams on these journals and building them into successful titles with strong international reputations.

Journal of the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System is published quarterly in March, June, Sept, Dec. ISSN:1470-3203, E-ISSN:1752-8976. The first SAGE issue will be vol. 9 issue 2. The new journal website will be http://jra.sagepub.com/

British journal of Diabetes and Vascular Disease is published six times per year in Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec. ISSN:1474-6514, E-ISSN:1753-4305. The first SAGE issue will be vol. 8 issue 3. The new journal website will be http://dvd.sagepub.com'/>"/>
