AMSTERDAM, September 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Elsevier today announced the appointment of Roy Jakobs as Managing Director, Academic and Government Sales and Customer Marketing. In this role, Jakobs will lead the global sales and marketing organization working directly with universities and institutions to provide some of the world's leading research information solutions, including ScienceDirect, Scopus, bibliographic databases such as the CrossFire Beilstein database, and Elsevier's extensive collection of online books and reference works.
Jakobs brings to his new position relevant experience in strategic planning, sales and marketing from in- and outside the information solutions industry. He most recently served as Director of Strategy, Science and Technology, at Elsevier. Prior to joining Elsevier in 2005 he held various management roles within Shell in several locations across Europe.
