Round Table Family Charities Raises $350,000 for Children's Miracle Network

The charity event is much more than an exercise in corporate philanthropy. In fact, for several Round Table Pizza employees, it's personal. Round Table Family Charities was established after an employee's grandson underwent a successful heart surgery at Children's Hospital and Research Center in Oakland. A conversation about the surgery with McCourt, whose daughter was also treated there, spurned the idea for a charity. Shortly after, Round Table Family Charities was born and Round Table Pizza's corporate employees and restaurant managers were given two paid days off to volunteer in their communities.

"Round Table Family Charities is a stellar example of a company giving back to the community," says Dan Pontius, director of Sponsor Development at CMN. "Their drive and enthusiasm to help children is a standard to be followed."
