Rodgers Introduces SamarionSolution to International Audience
Date:9/3/2009

JACKSON, Miss., Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Samarion Chairman and CEO Mark Rodgers recently presented the SamarionSolution to the 8th Annual International Association of Homes & Services for the Ageing (IAHSA) Conference in London, England.

IAHSA is an international membership association that represents providers of care for the aging in more than 30 countries. Rodgers' presentation focused on how the SamarionSolution leverages technology to improve the quality of elder care in long term care facilities.

"It was a tremendous honor for me to be invited to share the SamarionSolution with this esteemed group of elder care leaders," said Rodgers. "Our aging population, shortage of medical staff and the economic meltdown have combined to create a perfect storm that threatens the quality of care given to the elderly in the U.S. and throughout the world."

"Using the latest technology, the SamarionSolution keeps patients and staff members connected at all times so that care givers are immediately alerted when a resident needs assistance," added Rodgers. "This technology helps close the gaps caused by staffing shortages and gives residents and their families added peace of mind."

The SamarionSolution is the only enterprise quality improvement system that provides healthcare facilities with true prevention technologies, including fall prevention, wandering and elopement prevention, and abuse and neglect prevention. This innovative solution utilizes image analysis software and intelligent alerting to allow patient intervention before a catastrophic event, such as an unassisted bed exit. Falls are one of the leading causes of accidental death and injury in long term care facilities.
