RockSolid SQL Announces DBA Support for AWS Customers
Date:3/2/2013

Australia (PRWEB) March 02, 2013

RockSolid SQL has today announced the availability of their fully managed DBA support service for customers running SQL Server within Amazon Web Services.

RockSolid SQL, a leading provider of managed SQL Server DBA support for just under 10,000 customer databases, has announced a new service designed specifically for customers running with the Amazon EC2 environment. “RockSolid DBA Out-Task for AWS” is a managed DBA support service that is backed by a 24x7 team of experienced database administrators. A 100% fully automated DBA support service will also be available in the near future.

“We looked at customers running database in the cloud and appreciate the benefits that come with doing so. Elasticity, flexibility and scalability are all part of the on demand nature. But when we looked at traditional managed services offerings these didn’t fit well with the cloud. Many providers insist on fixed term agreements with fixed rates,” explains RockSolid SQL director, Tony Bain. “With RockSolid DBA Out-Task for AWS we provide the flexibility that managed services have been lacking when applied to the cloud. We charge a low monitoring and management fee for each instance supported, but you only pay for the hours those instances are active. You are free to scale up or down your services at any point. We believe this is a unique approach to managed services across the board.”

The RockSolid SQL DBA Out-Task for AWS offering includes all the routine management that you would expect a full time DBA to do including the management of performance, capacity, security, availability, recovery as well as routine maintenance. But with low rates, the service it is a fraction the cost of employing a full time database administrator.
