Background: Representatives from the United Way of Rock River Valley will present an award to RRVBC for its support of United Way’s Success By 6® Page Turner Reading Program. RRVBC was a book sponsor during the month of May; the Page Turner Reading Program reaches over 3,500 pre-k students monthly across schools in the Harlem and Rockford school districts and City of Rockford Head Start.
The program is part of United Way of Rock River Valley’s school readiness focus. Together with partners all across the community, United Way is improving community conditions in the area of education by preparing children from birth to age six to have the educational, social-emotional, and positive experiences necessary to enter kindergarten ready to succeed.
The Rock River Valley Blood Center serves as a centralized, community blood center and is the only provider of blood products and services to Beloit Health System, Edgerton Hospital and Health Services, FHN, Mercy Harvard Hospital, OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, Rochelle Community Hospital, Rockford Health System and SwedishAmerican Health System and SwedishAmerican Medical Center--Belvidere.
