CHICAGO, May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Rising Medical Solutions, Inc. (Rising), a leading medical-financial solutions organization, and Jason Beans, Rising CEO, are featured in Norman Scarborough's recently published entrepreneurship textbook, Effective Small Business Management, 9th edition. This edition, and previous editions, are utilized in business schools across the country and are aimed at providing tools and encouragement to those students who are serious about starting their own businesses.

The case study selection process for Scarborough's textbook entailed interviewing the founders of organizations from various industries and then choosing ten cases to be developed more thoroughly. Conducting the interviews and writing the case studies was Katherine Korman Frey - a Harvard Business School alum, an Associate Director and Adjunct Professor of Management at the George Washington University School of Business and Public Management, and the Managing Director of Vision Forward, a business strategy consulting firm.

"My goal for the case studies was for students to gain personal insight into the mindset of each entrepreneur. Therefore, I asked a lot of questions about the most difficult business and personal challenges that the entrepreneurs have faced and how they dealt with those challenges" says Korman Frey. "I selected Rising and Jason Beans because I felt the company's business focus was particularly interesting given the current concern and urgency around healthcare costs. I also felt that Jason's accounts of his experiences and approach to overcoming various obstacles was intriguing and, in pilot presentation of his case study to my own class, the students responded very positively."

Within the context of the Effective Small Business Management, 9th edition, Rising's case specifically focuses on the following topics covered in the textbook: strategic business management; employee management, motivation and accountability; and corporate values and leadership.

Comments Rising CEO, Jason Beans, "Sharing my own experiences with aspiring entrepreneurs is a privilege and a pleasure. I hope that my learning opportunities, challenges, and resolutions will help, in some small part, to provide a foundation from which students will be guided to their own entrepreneurial success."
