Riders from Participate in 26th Annual Bike MS Tour
Date:10/28/2008 riders joined over 2000 cyclists along Southern California's coast recently to raise funds for the 26th annual MS Bike Tour.

San Clemente, CA (PRWEB) October 28, 2008 -- On October 11 and 12, bike riders from, a provider of disability income insurance, joined over 2,000 other cyclists along the sunny California coast to raise over $2 million for MS research. The cyclists rode together to raise both research funds and awareness for this devastating neuromuscular disease. The MS Bike Tour is sponsored by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The money raised from the event goes toward continuing research to discover the cause and cure for multiple sclerosis and to provide a variety of services critical to those living with MS., a leader in providing disability insurance to physicians and dentists, is proud to contribute to the ongoing efforts of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Multiple Sclerosis interrupts the flow of information between the brain and the body, interfering with movement, coordination, speech and vision. Every hour in the United States, someone is newly diagnosed with MS, an unpredictable and often debilitating disease of the central nervous system. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS from person to person can not be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between ages of 20 and 50, with more than twice as many women as men diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 400,000 people in the U.S. and 2.5 million worldwide.

Chuck Krugh, President of DoctorDisability, said, "We are very supportive of the work done by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and were honored to participate in this year's MS Bike Tour. It's one way we can help do our part to alleviate an illness that is a real threat to the lives of the very people we serve here at DoctorDisability. We often receive disability insurance inquiries from medical providers who have been diagnosed with MS. Unfortunately, once the diagnosis is made, it's nearly impossible to purchase disability insurance. This is just one of the reasons why it's so important to obtain disability insurance early in one's career, preferably during residency or fellowship." offers physician disability insurance to all types of doctors, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, cardiologists, and general practitioners. Their goal is to make it easy for them to choose the right plan to protect themselves in the event they become sick or injured and can no longer earn an income. Their agents work with doctors to determine the best disability insurance coverage based on income level, specialty, family needs, geographical location and a variety of other factors.
