(Vocus) November 25, 2009 -- Dr. Neil J. Zemmel, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Richmond, is launching a new website utilizing the latest internet technology to educate visitors on breast enhancement and breast reconstruction procedures. The new site incorporates a variety of media platforms to create an interactive web experience that’s designed to be an informative and user-friendly virtual tour of Dr. Zemmel’s practice.

One practice offering plastic surgery in Richmond, Virginia is embracing the newest innovations of the worldwide web to help visitors who have questions on a variety of breast surgery procedures. The website for Richmond Aesthetic Surgery acts as a virtual portal for information regarding breast enhancement, augmentation, and reconstruction treatments. Dr. Neil Zemmel, the facility’s founder and medical director, says the new website is primarily focused on breast surgery procedures in order to give visitors a thorough look at what the surgical process entails and help them make a more informed decision as to what might help them achieve their goals. Dr. Zemmel says the site acts as nice compliment to Richmond Aesthetic Surgery’s main website, and illustrates a special focus of his practice in addition to the many other treatments he provides. “Our practice provides the full range of plastic and reconstructive procedures as well as cosmetic surgery. We specialize in cosmetic surgery of the breast, body, and face; breast reconstruction; reconstruction of the head, neck and extremities, as well as the trunk.”

Included in the new website is an internet video component featuring documentaries explaining a range of breast surgery procedures, as well as an overview of the practice. The videos include interviews with Dr. Zemmel, as well as patients who have been treated at Richmond Aesthetic Surgery. On the website, Dr. Zemmel also offers detailed descriptions of procedures offered, such as breast reconstruction, breast reduction, revisional breast surgery, and breast implants in Richmond, and provides patients with thorough explanations of the process as well as before-and-after photos so that prospective patients can see the results of those who have undergone specific surgical options. Dr. Zemmel also gives web visitors a look at his Richmond Mommy Makeover procedure, an aesthetic enhancement option becoming more popular among women who would like to address a variety of body areas that have been affected by recent pregnancy.

Web visitors considering breast reconstruction in Richmond will find comprehensive information on the various types and processes involved in the procedure, as well as insurance information to help cover costs of the surgery. Dr. Zemmel says breast reconstruction is one of his main areas of expertise, and rebuilding the breasts after mastectomy or injury can be extremely important to a woman’s self-esteem. “When my patients return to a relatively normal life, they feel good, they feel whole again. That’s when I think we have achieved success.”

A collaboration with Rosemont Media®, a plastic surgery website design firm Dr. Zemmel’s new site is also a way for him provide visitors with more outlets for feedback, including quick access to the practice’s social media networks like Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. Patients can also get the latest news from Richmond Aesthetic Surgery via an updated blog from the doctor. Dr. Zemmel says the website is just one method of communicating to those considering breast surgery that there are options available that can help them, and that they can improve the way they see themselves. “When I see our patients happy and they return to their lives improved, their self-esteem is better, their self-confidence is improved – or, in the case of a reconstruction patient, that we can get them back to some semblance of normality – that’s when I know it’s all been worth it.”
