CHARLESTON, S.C., Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert Rhodes has been appointed executive vice president and chief operating officer of TCC of South Carolina, a third-party administrator of health benefits.
Rhodes previously served as deputy general counsel and assistant vice president of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C., an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. He brings to TCC a background in strategic planning and strong corporate and operational knowledge.
Prior to joining BlueCross in 2001, Rhodes was a vice president and counsel to Washington Mutual Bank and practiced law with the firm Glenn Murphy Grey & Stepp in Columbia. Rhodes holds a bachelor's degree and a law degree from the University of South Carolina.
Headquartered in Charleston, S.C., TCC administers self-funded health plans and insured limited benefit policies for groups located across the country. Also, TCC is a separate company that administers fully-insured comprehensive health insurance policies on behalf of BlueCross. In business since 1972, TCC was the first third-party administrator in South Carolina and one of the first in the Southeast.
