Breakthrough Weight-Loss Plan Adapts to Dieter's Lifestyle

OWINGS MILLS, Md., March 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Medifast, Inc. (NYSE: MED) today announced the Grand Opening of a new Pikesville, Md., Medifast Weight Control Center franchise. The new Medifast Weight Control Center is located at Festival at Woodholme, 1809 Reisterstown Rd., Baltimore, Md. 21208.

The heart and soul of the Medifast Weight Control Center concept is one-on-one counseling with a trained professional. The counselor helps each client design a personal program based on their lifestyle. Together the counselor and client determine an achievable weight-loss program based on a personal profile analysis and an in-body scan that shows exactly where the fat is and how much weight the patient needs to lose so there is no guessing.

"As doctors have known for years, it's not only how much you eat but also what you eat that determines how much you weigh, and that's what our program focuses on," says Jackson. "So many diet programs fail because the dieter either becomes bored with the restrictive food choices or results take so long that they lose interest. What's great about this program is that a client can see results right away while eating a variety of great-tasting foods."

Another innovation is Medifast's line of metabolism boosting products. Within the first few days the clie
