Retirement Residents Return Home

SPRING VALLEY, Calif., Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- As of 1:00 p.m. PST today, 120 independent living residents returned to the Mount Miguel Covenant Village retirement campus in Spring Valley. Emergency service authorities gave the all-clear to reoccupy the independent living apartments and residents were transported to the campus from an emergency shelter at Rock Church in Point Loma. The residents were evacuated late Monday night.

Campus administrators are awaiting confirmation on when assisted living and skilled nursing residents can return. Once the appropriate licensing agencies give approval, residents will return from the locations where they are currently receiving care.

The Mount Miguel Covenant Village campus was not damaged by the fires. Authorities did not give clearance to return to campus before today due to air quality issues.
