Boulder, CO (PRWEB) May 23, 2013
Retül University, the market leader in bike fit education, is proud to announce the formation of a strategic educational partnership with Ero Sports and Alphamantis Technologies to offer a bike industry first “Positioned for Speed” course combining advanced bike fit principles and aerodynamic assessment for time trial, road and triathlon bike fit.
This course will be a two-day experience offered to bike fitters with a Retül University, F.I.S.T. or S.I.C.I fit certification. The course will teach advanced principles of UCI legal Time Trial and Triathlon bike fit combined with on track aerodynamic drag and equipment testing protocol. Participants will leave this hands-on experience with an advanced understanding of how aerodynamics and fit work together to aid a rider and how a fitter can make equipment and position changes for a rider to enhance performance. The course will be instructed by Alphamantis aerodynamicist, Andy Froncioni, Retül University’s Chief Fit and Education Officer, Todd Carver and Ero Sports lead fitter and aero tester, Jim Manton.
“Aerodynamic drag has always played a role in our TT & Triathlon fit protocols, but until now, we haven’t been able to quantify the data, a cornerstone of Retül University Education,” shares Carver. “The Alphamantis on bike, real time measuring tools marry well to the hard data provided by the Retül system and we are excited to teach fitters how to make fit decisions using aerodynamics as a component of the fit.”
“Our goal at Ero Sports was to offer an industry leading tool combining the best in fit and aerodynamic data, and the Alphamantis system combined with Retül was the only way to go. We have developed an easy to use protocol for fitters based on the data provided by both tools,” says Jim Manton of Ero Sports. “It’s an honor to be able to share what we’ve learned on the track with other fitters who can help more athletes using the information.”
The Positioned for Speed course will be offered three times in 2013. July 10-11, August 28-29 and November 20-21 with limited slots for each course available. To learn more, or to enroll in this course, visit Retül University.

About Ero Sports
Ero Sports is the only provider of Aero Fit in the United States. AeroFit uses an industry-changing technology, the Track Aero System, to measure aerodynamic efficiency in real time, essentially bringing the wind tunnel to the real world. This groundbreaking system, developed by leading aerodynamicists and software engineers, allows for measurements of CdA (Coefficient of Drag) in a dynamic setting, providing the information to conclusively define the optimal formula for bike, position, and equipment. Ero Sports, in partnership with Alphamantis and the VELO Sports Center, brings this technology exclusively in North America.
The Aerofit service begins with the use of Retul's Vantage 3D Motion Capture technology to analyze your position and identify areas of possible improvement, or define the biomechanical limits to the positional changes under consideration. Once completed, baseline measurements of CdA are taken utilizing the TAS, and then improvements to position and/or equipment to achieve the lowest possible drag coefficient while maintaining a proper biomechanical position are made. Only the TAS can provide this type of optimization. Only Ero Sports can help riders achieve the ultimate optimization of bike and position.
