Restaurant Employment Outpaces Overall Employment, Confirms ChefCrossing.com

“Children’s nutrition and using ingredients from local sources continue to be hot restaurant trends,” notes Harrison Barnes, CEO of ChefCrossing.com. “America is embracing a new health trend and parents are becoming very aware of the dangers of childhood obesity. Chefs and cooks experienced in making healthy and tasty meals for kids – and, even better, doing so with locally grown food - will find their skills in line with national food trends.”

Much of the concern regarding children’s nutrition has come on the heels of recent studies linking childhood obesity with adult health problems, including type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and cancer.
