Respected Surgeon Receives Emmy Nomination

Dr. Andrew Ordon Co-Host of Innovative Medical Program

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Andrew Ordon, co-host of the syndicated talk show The Doctors, is pleased to announce that his program has been nominated for a 2009 Daytime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Talk Show/Informative category.

"We are so honored that the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has selected us for such a prestigious honor," says Ordon, an acclaimed plastic and reconstructive surgeon with private practices in Beverly Hills and Rancho Mirage, California. "Our show offers people the opportunity to conquer their fears by learning more about what modern medicine has to offer, and we are grateful that our efforts have been recognized in such a manner."

The Doctors, four practitioners with different specialties, are go-to sources for information on the latest medical breakthroughs and cutting-edge practices and procedures. Dr. Travis Stork, an E.R. physician, Dr. Lisa Masterson, an obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr. James Sears, a pediatrician and Ordon use their knowledge and years of hands-on experience to educate viewers and provide valuable resources.

Ordon graduated with honors from the USC School of Medicine. He trained in General Surgery and Head and Neck Surgery at USC, UCLA and Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Ordon completed his training program in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the prestigious Lenox Hill Hospital's Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Institute in New York City. He is currently Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at Dartmouth Medical College and the UCLA School of Medicine.

Also nominated for an Emmy in this year's Outstanding Talk Show/Informative category are The Tyra Banks Show and Dr. Phil.
