Reno Children With Disabilities Profit From a Little Known but Internationally Recognized Non-Profit Organization as it Quietly Crosses the $200,000.00 Mark in Service Investment Into the Reno Area

RENO, Nev., Feb. 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In these difficult times in Washoe County there has been one helping hand quietly bringing money and services into the Reno area.  The Newton Learning Center, a service of Second Start Learning Disabilities Programs Inc. is providing cutting edge educational and therapeutic services to the Asperger's (high functioning Autistic) community.

The $200,000.00 represents a net investment into the area. This means outside money flowing into Washoe Valley to the benefit of not just special education but the community as a whole. They have done this without fan fare or public events which could drain needed financial resources from Washoe County.

In these financially trying times those who can defend themselves least are often those who suffer the most as services are cut. The Newton Learning Center stands in the gap to ensure our special needs students do not suffer. By offering parents and educational systems leading educational services for their special needs students The Newton Learning Center has in their short 18 months of life in the Reno area demonstrated a unique ability to provide needed services.

Students placed in the NLC by both parents and the Washoe County Schools have in mere months been successfully transitioned back into public schools. The Newton Method is essentially an educational system of cognitive social thinking communicated by an integrated educational method of coaching, modeling social acceptable behaviors and communication skills with daily self, peer and instructional reviews.
