Rehab Management Solutions Offers A New ½ Day Workshop to Help Physical & Occupational Practices Remain Compliant
Date:9/20/2013

Sturtevant, WI (PRWEB) September 20, 2013

A payor walks into your private physical or occupational therapy clinic to audit your documentation. Are you prepared to properly defend yourself? Rehab Management Solutions (RMS), a Physical Therapist owned-and-operated company that helps physical and occupational therapists open and grow their own practices, is proud to offer a new ½ day Documentation & Coding Summit to help clinic owners and directors protect their practice, fulfill the requirements of their Corporate Compliance Policy and ensure all providers understand their professional responsibility of compliant documentation.

RMS’ Documentation & Coding Workshops are available either in-person or by web-based programming. Each workshop is tailored to meet the needs of the clinic, focusing on real practice examples and case studies. Providers that undergo the program benefit from education on how to remain compliant with the rules and regulations governing outpatient therapy practices, as well as understand how to overcome difficult reimbursement obstacles. Some of the topics discussed in the interactive and customizable presentations include the importance of documenting for medical necessity and the need for skilled care, how to avoid reimbursement denials and audits, CPT-code selection, and tips for efficient Electronic Medical Record (EMR) usage. Also included are Medicare updates, with a special focus on the Physician Quality Reporting System, the Medicare therapy cap, G-codes, and the Functional Therapy Reporting System.

Those who have taken the course felt it helped improve their clinical skills, efficiency and productivity. Susan Trchka, PT, a Clinic Director from Hinsdale, IL felt: “The course offered a marvelous review on Medicare requirements and the need to document for medical necessity and skilled care. This is vital as more insurance carriers are requiring more and more of this in our documentation. Even though I thought I knew a lot [about] the items taught, it was wonderful to learn WHY we need to document function. RMS is helping [our practice] stay up-to-date.”

Rehab Management Solutions is a PT-owned and PT-led company that focuses on helping PTs and OTs open, manage and grow practices. For more information on the Documentation & Coding Workshops or to schedule one at your practice, contact Larry Briand, MS, PT, ATC at 877-552-2996 or at lbriand(at)rehabmgtsolutions(dot)com.
