Date:5/31/2013

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 31, 2013

BioTechniques: The International Journal of Life Science Methods announces the opening of registration for the 2013 BioTechniques Virtual Symposium—Exploring the Modern Lab. This all-day virtual event will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, and registration is free.

Sessions and topics include:

“Advancing Molecular Biology” with a focus on cloning/mutagenesis and the analysis of gene regulation.

“PCR in 2013” with a focus on qPCR, multiplex PCR, and digital PCR.

“Understanding Modern Biochemistry” with a focus on protein isolation, protein analysis, and protein structure.

“Modern Cellular Imaging” with a focus on light microscopy advances, fluorescent probes and proteins, and high-content imaging.

Additional events include the BioTechniques 30th anniversary lecture on gene delivery and a special exhibitor workshop on plastic labware leaching.

"At the core, the editors of BioTechniques love methods and their impact on science. So, in planning this year’s agenda, our goal was to explore in greater detail just how methods and techniques truly shape the way research is done in today's lab," said Nathan Blow, BioTechniques’ Editor-in-Chief. "I'm confident that everyone attending this year's event will walk away with new ideas or new experimental approaches that will speed discovery."

In addition to a wide-ranging agenda celebrating the creativity and imagination behind some of today’s most innovative methods, techniques, protocols, and instrument advances, the symposium will also feature an exhibit hall, poster hall, networking opportunities, and live Q&A sessions with presenters and sponsors.

The 2013 BioTechniques Virtual Symposium is sponsored in part by Chroma, Eppendorf, Essen BioScience, Mirus, OriGene, and Roche.
