Regence BlueShield Receives Top Marks in Insurance Survey

SEATTLE, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Regence BlueShield recently learned that Washington medical groups ranked it as the best insurance plan in the state, and tenth nationally, for payer performance.

The survey, which was conducted by the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), measured the efficiency, accuracy and consistency in which health plans paid claims as well as medical practices' satisfaction with plans' contract negotiation process, fee schedules, responsiveness to questions and payment transparency. Approximately 2500 medical groups were surveyed about Regence's performance.

"Regence is committed to excellent provider relations on behalf of our members, and this recognition is a testament to the quality of employees that work at Regence and the long-term relationships they've built with providers and their staff," said Beth Johnson, vice president of provider services for Regence. "Most of our employees have been here for more than 10 years - some even 30 years - and providers know they can count on them."

MGMA represents medical group practice professionals and their practices. The organization serves 22,500 members who manage about 13,700 organizations in which almost 275,000 physicians practice.
