Reducing Energy Consumption Dramatically: Green IT Conference Addresses Administration's Goals
Date:4/8/2010

The conference plans to unveil exciting new technologies that make it possible to meet the clamorous demand for greater social and environmental accountability and meet the UN-set goal of reconciling current progress with future responsibility. Leading specialists from major organizations will underscore their concerns and showcase their successes.

(PRWEB) April 8, 2010 -- A major national conference on Green IT Economic Summit, on April 22 in Ritz Carlton, Tysons Corner, VA, brings the focus squarely on the current administration's target of a sharp decrease in energy consumption and environmental optimization in federal agencies in particular and in national industry in general.

The conference theme clearly notes the high rate of energy consumption in the information technology sector, especially with the soaring demand of massive data centers and the associated demand of extensive cooling equipment. Conference presenters, like Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Marriott and SRA, will present real-life examples of drastic energy saving through power management, server consolidation and dynamic management of computer assets across a pool of servers.

Some specialists plan to link the administration's accent on national sustainability goals with the serious sustainability issues at the enterprise level: reduce energy costs, by as much as 80 per cent without compromising service, stem equipment cost by optimizing business processes, power down servers without affecting applications, manage carbon emissions with shipping logistics planning coupled and supply chain management.

The conference plans to unveil exciting new technologies that make it possible to meet the clamorous demand for greater social and environmental accountability and meet the UN-set goal of reconciling current progress with future responsibility. Leading specialists from major organizations will underscore their concerns and showcase their successes.

The conference has the partnership of Virginia's two apex organizations in the field, the North Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) and the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA).
