BALTIMORE, March 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Maryland breast cancer patients in Montgomery and Prince George's Counties now have an angel on their sides: The Red Devils (TRD), a non-profit organization that funds services to improve the quality of life for Maryland breast cancer patients and their families.

With the addition of these six hospitals, The Red Devils network of referring partners stands at 35 members. Social workers and nurse coordinators at partner hospitals and breast centers in Baltimore City as well as Allegheny, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's and Washington Counties plus areas of the Eastern Shore now refer patients to The Red Devils service providers.
The expansion in part is funded by a recently awarded $150,000 from Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world's largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.
According to TRD Executive Director Jan Wilson, the three-year grant is the single largest received in the history of The Red Devils and will help fund core support services provided by The Red Devils, including transportation to and from treatment; home-delivered meals and groceries; housecleaning; prescription drug assistance, equipment and recommended treatments; and complimentary services such as massage and acupuncture. Other critical health services, such as counseling, dental care, wellness classes and companion care, will be funded under the grant as well.
