Recent Video Release from Best Drug Rehabilitation Examines Professional Assistance in Getting Off of Drugs
Date:6/1/2016

Those who may be struggling with addiction, or know someone who is, can find some useful information in a new YouTube video release from Best Drug Rehabilitation. This video, and a corresponding blog entry on the Best Drug Rehabilitation website, focuses on the difficulty that many people face in quitting drugs, including dealing with the symptoms of withdrawal and the trouble many have found in locating an effective treatment program.

“Many people with substance abuse problems don’t seek professional help because they just don’t know how to quit using,” says Best Drug Rehabilitation founder Per Wickstrom. “A lot of the patients that come to our recovery center have tried to stop using drugs or drinking on their own and couldn’t handle the withdrawal, or they always started using again after a few days. A medically supervised detox center, like the one at BDR, can help them get through the discomfort of detox, and an effective rehabilitation program will help them find the strength and ability to resist the urge to use.”

The video, which can be seen on the Best Drug Rehabilitation YouTube channel, includes clips from interviews with a BDR patient, Cary H., and Bianca, a Behavioral Interventionist at the recovery center. They discuss the obstacles that many people find in quitting drugs or drinking, and different things that can help a person through that difficult time.

“For me, I couldn’t handle withdrawals”, says Cary. “If you are withdrawing, don’t try to do it alone. Come to a facility where they can help you out.” The Medically Supervised Detox Clinic at Best Drug Rehabilitation is staffed with registered nurses and certified withdrawal specialists that help new arrivals through the hardest parts of the detox process.

“I know a lot of people will try on their own,” says Bianca. “There’s different aspects of recovery - the mental aspect, the physical, and the spiritual aspect. If you take away one and you don’t nurture the others it’s not very successful. You have to have a healthy balance of all three. The best way to nurture those three aspects is to have the help of a facility with well trained staff.” The program at Best Drug Rehabilitation offers many options that focus on a thorough healing of the body, mind, and spirit.
