Radiology Business Management Association ,Announces Board of Directors and Officers for 2013-2014

The Radiology Business Management Association (RBMA) founded in 1968 in recognition of the need for educational resources for radiology management professionals annually elects a new Board of Directors. This year the following volunteers will donate their expertise and guidance in leading RBMA into the future:

Wendy Lomers, CPA, MBA, succeeds Bob Still as president. Wendy is the chief financial officer of Acclaim Radiology Management in Longview, Texas. She has served on the RBMA board as president-elect, treasurer and as a regional director, as well as on numerous committees, including the Finance and Membership Committees. She has also served several terms as the president of the Texas RBMA.

Bob Still’s service on the board continues as immediate past-president. Bob has been the practice manager for Lancaster Radiology Associates, Ltd. in Lancaster, Penn. for 19 years. He has served on the RBMA board as president-elect and previously in other capacities. Throughout his career, Bob has been an active volunteer leader of several non-profit and professional associations including his service of nine years on his local school board, five as president. In addition, he served four years in the Delaware State Senate.

Keith E. Chew, CMPE, will serve as president-elect. He is a senior strategic consultant within the Practice Consulting Solutions Division of McKesson Business Performance Services, specializing in medical practice operations, new venture development and contracting sub-specialties in the realm of radiology and imaging services. Keith previously served on the board as parliamentarian and is the current chair of RBMA’s Membership Committee and Executive Education Subcommittee.

Kim Longeteig, FRBMA, will serve as secretary. She is principal and creative director of Ali`i Marketing & Design, and has more than 18 years of professional marketing, advertising and graphic design experience, with specialty focus in radiology, medical billing, health care IT and health care-related businesses. Kim served previously on the board as a director-at-large and western director and is currently co-chair of RBMA’s Communications Committee.

Worth M. Saunders, MHA, FACHE, FRBMA, is treasurer and eastern director. He is the chief executive officer of Greensboro Radiology, PA. Worth is currently chair of RBMA’s Finance Committee. He has previously served on the RBMA board and chaired the RBMA Payor Relations Committee.

Suzanne Taylor, BS, FRBMA, is parliamentarian and southern director. A member since 1986, she has been on the board previously and on the Federal Affairs and Payor Relations Committees. Currently, she chairs RBMA’s Bylaws Committee. Suzanne is a senior vice president of operations (central region) for Management Services Network, LLC.

Dr. Mark O. Bernardy remains on the board as ACR director. He has been involved in ACR economic activities for many years, and currently chairs the Managed Care Committee. He is a past president of the Georgia Radiological Society and serves on their board and is treasurer of GRADPAC, their statewide PAC.

David Monaghan, MHA, will serve as western director. He has been immersed in medical imaging management in a variety of settings and organizations since starting his career in 1996 and is currently the assistant vice president of imaging services for Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City, Utah. David previously served on RBMA’s Data Collection and Reporting Committee.

Charles McRae, MBA, will serve as midwestern director. He has more than 10 years of experience in physician practice management, billing office operations and new business development. He serves as chief executive officer of Columbus Radiology Corp in Columbus, Ohio. Charles chairs RBMA’s Radiology Integrated Models Task Force.

Brian Barbeito, MSHA, MBA, FACHE, is a new director-at-large. Brian is chief executive officer of Mid-South Imaging & Therapeutics, P.A. in Memphis, Tenn. Along with being an active member of RBMA, Brian is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and remains active at the local, state, and national level with ACHE and the Medical Group Management Association. Brian served on RBMA’s Payor Relations and Finance Committees, and currently serves on the Federal Affairs Committee.

Tom Dickerson, MA, FACHE, also just joined the board as director-at-large. For more than 15 years, he has served as the chief executive officer for Clinical Radiologists, S.C., in Springfield, Ill. He is also president of Professional Business Services of Central Illinois, Inc., a medical billing company. Tom has served his local community as an elected school board member for the past 10 years in addition being an active leader for several non-profit organizations. Tom currently is on the Common Body of Knowledge Task Force and will also serve on the RBMA Finance Committee.

Fred Downs, MS, PhD, is starting his second year as a director-at-large. Fred works for Diagnostic Imaging Specialists in Atlanta, Ga. He currently chairs RBMA’s Common Body of Knowledge Task Force and serves on the Educational Materials and Products Committee.

Mary Hondl, BA, is an incumbent director-at-large. Mary is with Regional Diagnostic Radiology in Sartell, Minn. She just concluded her term as board secretary and co-chair of the RBMA Programs Committee. Mary served on the board previously as well as on several RBMA committees. She currently is on the Common Body of Knowledge Task Force.

Steve Schreiber, M.S. Ed, FRBMA, is in his second year as director-at-large. Steve is a senior management consultant with Technology Partners, Inc. {dba} IMAGINE Software. He currently serves on RBMA’s Data Collection and Reporting Committee and Educational Materials and Products Committee. Steve is a past board member and chaired RBMA’s Vendor Relations Committee.

The Radiology Business Management Association is a national not-for-profit association providing members with applied business information and intelligence applicable in any radiology setting. The RBMA has approximately 2,300 members involved in various management capacities in private practices, academic radiology groups, imaging centers and hospitals. The RBMA continues to be recognized as the leader for radiology-specific educational programs, products and services, publications and data.
