North Providence, RI (PRWEB) August 31, 2013
As a first step in their capacity building campaign, RAGEWorks announces the launch of their first Team 3 Center slated to Open November 1, in North Providence RI.
Men in our society are hurting. They are struggling with rage they don’t understand. There is pressure from all sides: their families, their jobs or unemployment, a culture that says they have to be tough and never admit weakness. They are supposed to be in control, but what happens when they are faced with crises they can’t control?
Far too many men can’t handle it. They have never been given the tools. They have never benefited from the wisdom of stable, present fathers. As adults, even if they are married, employed, or have buddies, they feel alone. They long for something that is missing, but can’t express it. But, they do feel rage. RAGEWorks invites them to change their lives for the better.
Team 3 provides a FREE common space where men can work together on their physical and emotional well –being. This safe harbor provides team training in a small gym environment to help men develop camaraderie and trust with other men. Among the services men can utilize are non-confrontational sessions, where men talk with each other and our trained volunteers and learn leadership skills they can use in their families, their workplaces, and their communities.
This location will accommodate up to 250 men who can join and utilize all services for Free in exchange for a few hours of volunteer time at the facility. This location will provide a Beta site for the non - profit to expand efforts nationally.
“There is no magic key out there. Whatever a man is going through in his life, there is another man who has gone through the same challenges, but in the end chose a different approach. He faced the challenge through peaceful means, without resorting to destructive behaviors,” said Dr. Michael LeRoux, Founder RAGEWorks. "We are so pleased to be able to open our first Team 3 Center and help men deal with their anger and rage in a positive way, without having to resort to destructive behaviors," states LeRoux.
Each Team 3 center is supported by RAGEWorks, through community sponsorships, and in part self-supported by the members themselves and through volunteer and monetary contributions. This first center is launching in part to an anonymous donation, from a local sponsor underwriting the first year's rent.
