- Actress and musician joins Jenny Craig to relay the message of a healthy

lifestyle -

CARLSBAD, Calif., Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Jenny Craig Inc., one of the nation's leading authorities on weight management, held a press conference today at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles to introduce Queen Latifah as the company's newest celebrity client. The Oscar-nominated singer and actress will be the focal point of a new message for Jenny Craig - that of losing weight to improve one's health.

"Today I am taking the first step to improving my health by announcing my goal to lose 5-10% of my body weight with Jenny Craig." stated Queen Latifah. "My hope is to help educate people and motivate others to take their first step to have a positive impact on their health. By losing just 7% of your body weight, and increasing weekly activity, you can lower the risk of developing type II diabetes by 58%."

Queen Latifah plans to utilize her partnership with Jenny Craig to deliver the positive message of living a healthy lifestyle to her fans. Latifah lost her great-grandmother to type II diabetes and personally understands the severity of obesity-related illnesses. She wants to stay healthy and prevent the occurrence of this disease in her body. With a moderate reduction in body weight, and increased activity Latifah hopes to encourage others to join her in her mission to live a healthy lifestyle.

Jenny Craig CEO, Patti Larchet added, "We are thrilled to have Queen Latifah support our mission of achieving a healthy lifestyle. Queen Latifah is joining forces with Jenny Craig to communicate the importance of how making small lifestyle changes, such as diet and exercise, can have a significant positive impact on overall health."

Queen Latifah will star in Jenny Craig's new advertising campaign that will begin January 21, 2008. Latifah, who has consistently celebrated her plus-size figure over the years, will lead a very different campaign for the weight loss category - concentrating on a healthy lifestyle rather than getting into a specific dress size.

The on-demand version for the Jenny Craig Press Conference Webcast will be available for the next 30 days at http://72.32.208.177/webcast/jc/jenny_craig.htm.
