Quantum Health Appoints Stark as Executive Vice President of Sales
Date:2/9/2010

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Quantum Health, the Columbus, Ohio-based health plan management firm, announced that it has appointed Jim Stark to be Executive Vice President of Sales.  Stark, formerly the National Health and Welfare Practice Director for Aon Consulting, will oversee Quantum Health's national sales operation, including strategic partnerships with major consulting and brokerage firms, various Blue Cross/Blue Shield plans, national insurance carriers and third party administrators.

"We are extremely fortunate and excited to have someone with Jim's experience lead our national sales effort," said Kara J. Trott, Quantum Health CEO.  "He is a key expert in the national health plan industry, and his experience both strategically and leading sales will be invaluable to propelling Quantum Health to a higher level in the market."

Over the past 10 years, Quantum Health has held employers' cost trend to 4.3% without cutting benefits or shifting cost, which is about one-half the national trend for similar groups. Quantum Health has been featured Business Week, Managed Healthcare Executive, Forbes.com and Harvard University's innovator's website.

"Quantum Health's coordinated healthcare model is unique in the industry and has a 10-year track record of significantly reducing claims trend, while improving service to employees and reducing hassle for HR staffs,"  Stark said.  "I look forward to helping elevate this model to national prominence so that its proven cost control can impact the nation's healthcare crisis."

In his previous position as national practice leader with Aon Consulting, Stark was directly responsible for organic growth and operating margins for the practice. While with Aon, Jim designed and implemented segmentation strategies, strategic direction, and practice standards, and served on the U.S. and Global Operating Committee of Aon's $1.2 billion consulting company.

Stark is a past president and member of the World Trade Club of San Francisco and was a board member of the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers. Mr. Stark is a former U.S. Army Infantry Officer with service in Vietnam and holds a B.A. in Modern European History, a teaching certificate from Benedictine University and has completed course work toward an MBA at the University of Indiana.
