The Palm Restaurant Leads the Purple Drink Craze in NYC
NEW YORK, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Trendy and health-conscious have become one and the same in New York City hot spots, where high-antioxidant beverages like those made from the mega-popular acai berry are making their way to cocktail glasses across the city. Leading the "healthy-cocktail" craze, The Palm Restaurant on the West Side has consumers lining up for Purple cocktails that pack the promise of an antioxidant boost along with a cocktail buzz.

Party-goers believe they were given the green light to drink up this spring, when researchers from Kasetsart University in Thailand found that combining alcohol with high-antioxidant berries can actually boost the berry's antioxidant effects. This was all that trendy NYC bar patrons needed to hear to leave them clamoring for berry cocktails. Now, a new antioxidant-packed beverage is quenching their thirst for berry drinks, combining the power of seven of them into just one bottle. This new beverage, simply called PURPLE, happens to make the perfect Purple Martini, and bartenders at The Palm -- known for pouring a generous martini -- have been shaking them up for customers since they began stocking PURPLE in August.
"As soon as we tasted PURPLE, we knew that the cocktail options would be endless," says Christopher Gilman, General Manager of The Palm on the West Side. "Its pleasingly tart flavor mixes well with alcohol, making it the perfect ingredient for berry-flavored martinis. Once we introduced our customers to a PURPLE Martini and they heard about the antioxidant benefits, they were sold."
All-natural, no sugar added PURPLE combines the exotic acai berry with
six other antioxidant-rich juices, including: black cherry, pomegranate,
black currant, purple plum, cranberry and blueber
