When the body is placed under stress – such as during cases of sleep deprivation, jet lag, or when in extremely cold conditions – mental performance often decreases, but now, it appears there may be an effective treatment available. According to information released by NYU Langone Medical Center in July 2012, evidence suggests L-Tyrosine supplements may help enhance alertness, improve memory, and increase mental function in people who are exposed to various forms of stress. L-Tyrosine is a key ingredient in the soon-to-be-released nootropic supplement Pure Prodigy from Biohack Nutrition.
In one double-blind study cited by NYU Langone Medical Center, subjects were forced to stay awake for an extended period of time while performing a battery of performance tasks. The study’s findings suggested that L-tyrosine “may prove useful in counteracting performance decrements during episodes of sustained work coupled with sleep loss.”
Biohack Nutrition founder Jonathan Weisman said, “L-Tyrosine is a potent nootropic that has been shown in one study after another to improve alertness, focus, working memory, and other cognitive functions in stressed conditions. That’s why it’s a key ingredient in our brain supplement Pure Prodigy.”
In another study of 20 US Marines cited by NYU Langone Medical Center, findings suggested that “tyrosine can improve mental alertness during periods of sleep deprivation.”
Weisman said, “The fact is that most of us are stressed on a daily basis. The average person doesn’t get enough sleep, and our lives are so demanding that we can use a supplement like L-Tyrosine to help us focus and improve our brain function. When you combine tyrosine with all of the other pure memory supplements and vitamins in Pure Prodigy, the benefits are truly amazing.”
Pure Prodigy’s official release date has yet to be announced, but a new “Coming Soon” teaser on the supplement’s official website suggests that it may be released sometime near the end of summer.
