Date:1/27/2010

Frannie Spector, Director of Purchasing at Atlanta-based promotional products and corporate apparel distributor, The Icebox, was recently chosen to serve on the Marketing, Public Relations, and Industry Research Advisory Board of the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI), the largest media and marketing organization serving the advertising specialty industry.

(PRWEB) January 27, 2010 -- Frannie Spector, Director of Purchasing at Atlanta-based promotional products and corporate apparel distributor, The Icebox, was recently chosen to serve on the Marketing, Public Relations, and Industry Research Advisory Board of the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI), the largest media and marketing organization serving the advertising specialty industry.

The mission of the ASI’s Marketing, Public Relations, and Industry Research Advisory Board is to help improve the marketing and public relations efforts of the industry. The 12-member board will focus on helping to better educate end-buyers about the power of promotional products.

“My vision for the industry is to educate and brand the industry to show end-users how effective promotional products are to a marketing campaign,” stated Spector. “They’re not just trinkets and tchotchkes, they are part of a marketing entity that completes the 360-degree marketing circle. I would like to see our end users view us as a marketing partner, one that complements their traditional marketing. Sixteen years in the promotional products industry has shown me that we can be a key component of our clients’ marketing efforts, not just a place to get ‘stuff.’” You may want to cut down the quote a little.

Spector’s industry experience includes administrative work, merchandising, purchasing, sales, and niche marketing. In addition to welcoming the opportunity to be of service to the industry, Spector and her colleagues at The Icebox view her election to the board as an opportunity for The Icebox to benefit from the knowledge she will gain while being part of a respected board of industry leaders.

“We are excited that one of our own has been elected to this prestigious board in the industry,” Commented Regan Medzhibzher, Marketing Director for The Icebox.

Hundreds of ASI member companies voted to help choose the industry leaders who will serve on the board. According to ASI, the board will meet regularly to discuss and debate important issues affecting the marketplace; participating leaders will recommend and take action to drive the industry forward.

“I’m excited to have this opportunity to help forward the goals of the industry,” said Spector. “The Icebox prides itself on not only helping clients amplify their brands through promotional products, but also amplifying The Icebox brand in our industry and target markets. I strive to help people better understand the value, power, and visibility that promotional products can bring their brands.”

The spirit of service exemplified by Spector’s participation on the board is a hallmark of The Icebox’s Atlanta reputation, and is lauded by ASI: “We applaud every one of the new board members for devoting their time and energy to tackling issues important to our industry,” stated Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI.
