Over the years, Colorado Psychotherapist and Spiritual Teacher Heather Hans has noticed an increasing infliction in the human psyche of the people she works with – the belief that something is wrong with them. Hans reveals how to overcome this damaging mentality and live a life of love in her upcoming book, “The Heart of Self-Love: How to Radiate with Confidence.”
“There is nothing wrong with you just the way you are,” Hans said. “In my experience, I’ve discovered that this belief of ‘something is wrong with me,’ is a common mentality which can be reversed by recognizing that this way of thinking is fundamentally flawed.”
Hans says a person struggling with their overall self-worth should follow these four life-changing tips to banish insecurities:
1. One must always hold the highest vision of themselves in their mind. Everything in a person’s life is a result of their belief system. All creations start with imagination.
2. Acceptance of Self: Each person is born into the world with a unique set of personality traits and soul characteristics, Hans says, and none of these traits or characteristics is better than the others. In today’s society, extroversion is particularly favored over introversion, causing introverts to feel inadequate. Introverts are not inadequate, rather, they simply require more alone time in order to center themselves; extroverts are the opposite in that they are drained by being alone and need to be with other people to recharge. Neither is right, wrong, or flawed – just different.
3. Holistic Health, as in the whole self, is key. Low self-esteem is a mental health issue; a false thought about oneself. It also represents spiritual disconnection. Each person is the Divine in a body, and the Divine does not have low self-esteem. A person’s physical health also has an impact on self-worth. The more one tends to their body, the better their self-worth will become.
4. Even the most successful people are regular people: Everyone who has ever done something great in the world is a normal person, too. Each individual has the opportunity every day to make choices that affect their life. Those who have achieved greatness have often encountered difficult circumstances where they made choices to use pain in their favor. The greater the pain, the more brilliantly one can shine.
Hans says when people follow these four steps, they will realize the key to achieving self-worth is to shine like the pearl, its brilliancy is caused by irritation.
“True greatness comes through belief in yourself and the gifts that you possess; when you know that you and the Divine are the same” she said. “That is how you will shine in this world, achieve your goals, and serve others.”
In “The Heart of Self-Love: How to Radiate with Confidence,” Hans will reveal life-changing secrets to heal the body, mind and soul.
