Providence Hospitals and Medical Clinics Connect on Common Secure Messaging

Platform

PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Kryptiq Corporation, the leading provider of next generation healthcare connectivity solutions, today announced Providence Health & Services -- Oregon Region (PH&S) has implemented Kryptiq's Connect IQ(TM) Software Development Kit (SDK) to incorporate secure messaging into an overarching consumer portal for its network of hospitals and medical clinics. Kryptiq's Connect IQ SDK enables PH&S to combine its internal development strengths with the benefits of Kryptiq's secure messaging and online patient services. As a result, PH&S will extend its MyProvidence consumer portal with powerful functionality as well as complete control of the user experience at a fraction of the cost of purchasing a custom solution.

"We needed a secure messaging infrastructure which tied together a comprehensive consumer portal with usage of our internal clinical and administrative systems to provide integrated access to information," said Mike Reagin, CTO of Providence Health & Services in Oregon.

Kryptiq's Connect IQ SDK offers healthcare IT vendors, large provider groups and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) powerful development tools to advance eHealth capabilities and support corporate strategies. Kryptiq's SDK is instrumental in allowing hospitals and medical groups to develop new capabilities for communicating with patients which maintain the look and feel of their own brand, while integrating with existing systems. This in turn grants consumers and physicians access to a single and secure platform to manage all their healthcare needs.

"Kryptiq's focus is providing tools that enable organizations to transform outdated methods of healthcare communication, such as mailing lab results and faxing patient information," said Luis Machuca, president and CEO of Kryptiq. "Providence is a clear leader in using new technology to drive efficiency, improve patient service and offer the highest quality care."

Kryptiq's SDK has also enabled Kryptiq technology partners, including GE Healthcare, Sage Software and MedcomSoft, to incorporate secure messaging and online patient services with their own applications to increase the value of their products.
