Date:9/15/2009

WHITEHALL, Pa., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Protica, Inc., makers of the first ready-to-drink protein shot, Profect((R)), has teamed up with UNFI and Select Nutrition, the nation's leading independent distributors of natural, organic and specialty foods, to distribute the first all-natural protein shot, Proasis((R)).

Proasis is the market's first all-natural, liquid protein shot. Proasis is a compact, ready-to-drink protein shot utilizing Actinase((R)) - the patent-pending protein complex that stimulates the metabolism by signaling the body to increase assimilation and absorption of essential nutrients. Actinase is the same protein complex used in Profect((R)) and many other brands manufactured by Protica.

"Our products such as Profect protein beverage have widespread consumer appeal, but Proasis was developed with the 'all natural' enthusiast in mind. We want to ensure that consumers who adhere to an all-natural diet can also benefit from our protein products," says Jim Duffy, president of Protica. Protica's products are some of the market's most nutritionally dense drinks and are distributed in tens of thousands of retail locations.

"We're excited to work with UNFI and Select Nutrition. Together, we will increase awareness of Proasis at the retailer and consumer level, domestically and internationally," says Jim Duffy.

Proasis is available in nine flavors and packaged in Protica's renowned, patent-pending ready-to-drink vial.
