Schertz, TX (PRWEB) June 17, 2013
The Professional Center for Enhanced Performance is pleased to announce that they are now open in Schertz. The center will offer the surrounding communities neurofeedback treatments, counseling and access to educational support groups.
Neurofeedback treatment is an exercise that can be used to help with athletic performance, post traumatic stress disorder, and autism. The Director of the center, Cheryl Camarillo, LCSW, works primarily with those affected by military and combat related stress and children with emotional-related difficulties.
Neurofeedback is brain exercise. By mapping brainwaves, it provides information on how brain activity needs to be shifted or changed. It can improve attention, cognitive abilities and emotional regulation. This non-invasive treatment can help those who suffer from anxiety, stress reactions, depression, sleep problems, headaches and migraines, mood swings, seizures and other conditions.
Though still being studied and researched extensively for scientifically proven results, neurofeedback treatments have provided countless results for many patients. In a November 2010 article on npr.org, a mother explains her experience with neurofeedback and how it benefitted both herself and her son, both of whom were diagnosed with ADHD. About the company:
At the Professional Center for Enhanced Performance, their goal is to unlock the brain's full potential. The brain acts as a processor for information. It regulates body temperature, breathing, physical movement, sensory, functions, as well as emotions, dreams, and reasoning. Truly one of the most amazing, self-regulating organs, the brain and nervous system as a whole, controls all facets of life and greatly impacts day-to-day activities. However, if the brain is not performing at a stable state, mental performance, psychological stability, and emotional control can be altered, affecting not only the individual, but those around them as well. At the Professional Center for Enhanced Performance, they work to improve the brain's self regulatory processes with neurofeedback treatment. They offer ADHD treatment, depression treatment, and treatment for autistic children. Their neurofeedback treatments can help with anxiety disorders, and post traumatic stress disorders.
