Date:3/17/2009

MOSCOW, March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- During the 14th International Salon of Ophthalmologic Optics held at Expocentre (Moscow) prizes were handed to the nominees of the Second National Optical Award Grand Prix MSOO.

In 2008 opticians and consumers of optical products got their first opportunity to choose the aces of the aces. A popular optical Internet project Ochki.Net together with Expocentre, the largest exhibition organization of Russia, announced the foundation of the National Optical Award (Grand Prix MSOO).

The laureates of the first National Optical Award Grand Prix MSOO were announced pursuant to the results of the universal and open vote at special sites. Everybody wishing to participate was able to join the vote: a professional optician or a consumer, that is why one can say that the best and most popular brands became the winners of the contest.

A new stage of Internet voting, which determined the nominees and laureates of the Second National Optical Award Grand Prix MSOO, was launched on October 1, 2008 by the http://www.grandprix-msoo.ochki.net site. The award was conferred in two categories: 'The Best Optical Product' (consumers' voting in nominations 'Sunglasses', 'Frames', 'Spectacle Lenses', 'Contact Lenses' 'The Best National Optical Network') and 'The Best Optical Company' (professional voting in the nominations 'Frames and Sunglasses', 'Sports Glasses', 'Spectacle Lenses', 'Contact Lenses', 'Process Equipment', 'Sales Equipment', 'Optical Education').

More than 9 000 votes were taken into consideration during the Internet voting.

Such manufacturers as Luxottica (sunglasses), Balero (frames), Seiko (spectacle lenses), Johnson & Johnson Vision Care (contact lenses), Ochkarik (optical networks) were declared winners in different nominations of the category 'The Best Optical Product.''/>"/>
