Prime earns first-ever accreditation for pharmacy benefit management

ST. PAUL, Minn., Oct. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Prime Therapeutics (Prime), a thought leader in pharmacy benefit management, announced today it has achieved URAC Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) accreditation.

The URAC PBM accreditation program is designed to encourage PBM industry best practices, promote quality improvement and protect and empower consumers. Prime began its participation with URAC's beta testing process in June 2007. Prime is now URAC accredited. "Prime has worked hard for this achievement. We strive to improve and promote standard practices in the PBM industry," said Prime's Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President, Dr. James Hartert. The URAC standards development process is consensus driven, with hundreds of industry experts serving as volunteers to establish and revise appropriate industry benchmarks.
