Woodinville, WA (PRWEB) September 04, 2013
Prevendra, Inc. announced on 28 August 2013 the launch of the Red Folder limited beta (1000 users). Red Folder is a secure web application which permits users to manually store their critical information, with instructions, for use by their trusted designee should the user become unavailable for whatever reason.
“As with many innovations, Red Folder came from necessity,” says Prevendra’s CEO, Christopher Burgess. “The Red Folder story is interesting inasmuch as I left a physical Red Folder for my family any time I would travel. In the Red Folder I included the details on where all legal documents were located, identified financial accounts and necessary contact instructions, provided identifying information for life insurance documents with contact data, and identified where my most current medical records were located, etc. The Red Folder also included the identification of the various online entities which we owned such as domains, blogs, and various user accounts, with instructions on what the family should do if I was incapacitated, died or was otherwise unavailable. The passwords for these accounts were kept in a separate folder, safely locked away with cryptic association between one list and the next. Having all critical information in the Red Folder gave both my family and me peace of mind and ensured nothing was forgotten in the event of an emergency when there was a certainty of distractions.”
Individuals interested in participating in the Red Folder beta should go to http://redfolder.co and engage. Following the provision of minimal contact data, they will be asked to set up a dual-authentication protocol, identify their designee, and provide data on a small test set of data forms. All user-provided content and engagement is handled via secure protocols with full encryption of content. Should a user forget their credentials, the personnel of Prevendra will be unable to assist, as access to user-provided content is not possible, by design.
During the beta, four categories of data were selected (Social Media, Online Real Estate, Estate & Banking and Vendors & Retail). Many more categories have been identified for the production version of Red Folder. It is expected beta users will suggest additional categories to augment those which the Prevendra team has already identified. The Red Folder beta will run through 30 September 2013 with the production application expected to arrive shortly thereafter (October 2013).
Red Folder development was assisted by the digital media professionals at Steve Akins SEO, led by their founder and owner, Steve Akins. “It has been a delight to be a part of Prevendra’s Red Folder development and know that my team and I were a part of bringing the Red Folder concept to fruition. The beta test will be instrumental in verifying the various processes and procedures we created to ensure data was handled both smoothly and securely,” said Steve Akins. “We at Prevendra are delighted to have Steve Akins as a collaboration partner and look forward to continued engagement with Steve and his team,” said Christopher Burgess.
