Date:8/3/2013

San Diego, California (PRWEB) August 03, 2013

The 210+ physician Faculty Practice Plan of Howard University in Washington, D.C., will partner with CHMB to guide their Allscripts EHR & PM Transition Project. The project will include IT Project Management and services for establishing the infrastructure required to support the initiative. It will also include the build and implementation of Allscripts EHR, Practice Management, and Data Analytics, in addition to the required interfaces with Howard University Hospital systems and external lab services. CHMB will also provide on-going application hosting and support for Howard in addition to professional services and consulting to further develop Howard’s Centralized Billing Operations.

The Howard University Faculty Practice Plan, also known as “The Doctors of Howard University,” is home to the individual healthcare practices of the Doctors of Howard University and is comprised of 33 primary care and specialty practices with over 210 physicians and 175 staff. The Doctors of Howard University are also faculty members of the Howard University College of Medicine and provide medical expertise in a vast array of specialties and subspecialties; providing superior healthcare service to the Greater Washington, D.C. community.

CHMB will provide the IT Department infrastructure oversight and project management services to facilitate effective decision-making, planning and implementation, central billing office consultative services including business analytics and reporting and implementation services throughout the transition to ensure Howard University IT and Revenue Cycle self-sufficiency - in further preparation for the changes anticipated for success as the Affordable Care Act is implemented.

“A successful and timely transition is critical to Howard,” stated Beth Schroeder, executive director of Strategy Deployment and Business Transformation for Howard University. “CHMB’s proven subject matter expertise and competency in each functional area of this project and the manner in which we will build our on-going partnership was pivotal in selecting CHMB for this engagement. CHMB displays a culture of partnership and a service ethic that we found to be in close alignment with Howard’s.”

According to CHMB Chief Executive, Bob Svendsen, “We know that choosing the right partner is an important part of creating a successful transition. We are pleased that the University recognized both CHMB’s unique integration of people, process and technology in addition to the value proposition of CHMB’s solution. It is a privilege to partner with a distinguished institution such as Howard University.”
