PreDiabetes Centers Welcomes Diabetes Guest Blogger to The PreD Blog
Date:5/9/2013

Austin, TX (PRWEB) May 09, 2013

PreDiabetes Centers, the national leader in cutting-edge prediabetes treatment, is proud to unveil its new blogger series “Spotlight on Diabetes” on the Company’s popular diabetes prevention blog, The PreD Blog.

“Spotlight on Diabetes” will feature top bloggers sharing their insight and personal stories about coping with type 2 diabetes or its related problems, including cardiovascular disease, diabetic neuropathy, osteoporosis, gout, and other serious conditions. Guest bloggers will dish top secrets about the condition–including surprising discoveries and treatment tips–and also spill all about the day-to-day struggles and victories of disease management. The blogger series will also feature experts in prediabetes and diabetes treatment, offering tips for easing symptoms and coping with chronic conditions.

The debut blogger of the “Spotlight on Diabetes” series is Kate Cornell, author of the blog “Sweet Success: My Life with Type 2 Diabetes.” In her guest post for PreDiabetes Centers, Kate opens up about her shocking diabetes diagnosis, how the disease has affected her life, and why early prediabetes screening is critical.

“Spotlight on Diabetes” is the first series to be showcased on The PreD Blog, which debuted a stylish new look when PreDiabetes Centers launched a redesigned website this past March.

The primary goal of The PreD Blog is to be an educational, engaging community hub where readers and contributers can learn about prediabetes and share their views and expertise. PreDiabetes Centers hopes the blog gives readers an open, friendly environment to collaborate and share their ideas and questions about topics related to the disease. The PreD Blog also aims to draw awareness to prediabetes, the serious condition that occurs before the development of type 2 diabetes. More than 79 million Americans have prediabetes, and most are unaware of their condition.

People who are concerned about their health can take the 2013 Diabetes Risk Survey–a score-based assessment that calculates a person’s individual risk factors for type 2 diabetes. They can also schedule a free blood screening on the Prediabetes Center website.

Prediabetes occurs when a person’s blood sugar levels are high but not yet high enough for a diabetes diagnosis. About 11% of people with prediabetes go on to develop type 2 diabetes within just three years. Prediabetes can raise a person’s risk for many serious complications, including cardiovascular disease, stroke, kidney damage and eye problems.

PreDiabetes Centers is a privately owned company based in Austin, Texas, that specializes in the prevention and treatment of diabetes. Treatment at the Center is customized for each client and is based on physician-directed care and lifestyle intervention. The company offers free biomarker blood testing that can detect prediabetes, and also continuing biomarker tests throughout the personalized program to ensure that metabolic processes in the body related to prediabetes are being reversed.
